The Leadership Framework I Return to Again and Again
I’ve noticed a wave of new faces around here lately, which feels really special. If this is your first time, welcome. And if you’ve been along for the ride for a while, I’m so glad you’re still here.
There’s a lot shifting in the world of leadership and how we actually work together, and it means something to me that you’re choosing to stay in the conversation and keep growing alongside it.
Each month, I like to share a favorite tool for development. Something you can try on for yourself, bring to your team, or quietly experiment with in the middle of real life.
One framework I come back to again and again is Conscious Leadership because it helps create more awareness in the moments that usually move the fastest.
It’s practical, honest, and something you can return to when you want to communicate more intentionally under pressure.
And if you ever want help thinking about how to use it in a way that actually sticks, reach out. I love being on your team.

AMBITIOUS LEADERS: THIS ONE’S FOR YOU
The Leadership Conversations Organizations Are Asking For Right Now
As conversations around sustainable ambition, leadership identity, burnout, and growth continue evolving, Begin Development is increasingly being invited to speak with executive teams, founder communities, and organizations navigating what it means to succeed without losing themselves in the process.
We compiled the most requested keynote and workshop topics into one place for conference organizers, leadership teams, and event hosts looking to create conversations that actually stay with people long after the event ends.

Leadership Development in Cancun with Exceptional Women Alliance
Malika recently facilitated a StrengthsFinder session in Cancun with the Exceptional Women Alliance, guiding leaders through deeper self-awareness and intentional leadership development. Because the need for conscious, people-centered leadership exists everywhere leadership does.
WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO
When Leadership Becomes More About Identity Than Mission
A recent episode of The Curiosity Shop with Brené Brown and Adam Grant explores a tension that quietly shapes many organizations: the difference between building around a mission versus building around a leader’s identity.
What stood out is how easy it is for growth, visibility, and expertise to slowly shift leadership away from curiosity and toward self-protection. Not always dramatically. Often subtly through defensiveness, certainty, or the need to be the smartest voice in the room.
The conversation is a reminder that conscious leadership isn’t about removing ambition. It’s about staying grounded enough that ambition continues to serve the work instead of the ego.
As businesses scale, that distinction matters more than ever.
Growth doesn’t happen through information alone. It happens through reflection, honest conversations, and the willingness to lead differently.
Whether through conscious leadership practices, deeper self-awareness, or conversations around reinvention, this month has been centered on one thing: helping leaders lead with greater intention and impact.
Thank you for continuing to do the work that changes teams, cultures, and communities from the inside out.
With gratitude,
- Malika & the Begin Development team
